About the Role:
Norfolk County Council is looking for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Family Help teams-a forward-thinking, multi-disciplinary service dedicated to improving outcomes for children and families. Norfolk is a 'Good' authority with exceptional leadership, and we take pride in valuing and supporting all our practitioners.

This is an exciting time to join the frontline Social Work teams following the launch of our new operating model. Family Help reflects the ambitions of the National Children's Social Care Review (2022) and the Government's response, Stable Homes Built on Love (2023). It builds on proven approaches that work for children, families, and practitioners in Norfolk, and has been successfully implemented county-wide following a highly successful trial period.

About Family Help:

  • Teams consist of 22 practitioners, including social workers, family support workers, specialist practitioners, assistant managers, and team managers.
  • Multi-disciplinary teams collaborate to deliver early, targeted interventions, with a focus on relationships, direct work, and extended family networks.
  • Cases are managed collectively across prevention and protection teams, improving outcomes for children and families while reducing intervention times and administrative burdens for social workers.

What We Offer:

  • A supportive, flexible, and inclusive working environment that prioritises practitioner wellbeing.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career progression.
  • The chance to be part of a pioneering service delivering measurable, meaningful impact.

Person Specification:
We are looking for Social Workers who:

  • Are qualified and registered with Social Work England.
  • Have experience in Child Protection, Assessments, and Court Work.
  • Are excellent team players who share our commitment to achieving the best outcomes for children and families.
