Cheshire West - Team Manager - Children with Disabilities Te
Cheshire West Council is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Team Manager to join their Children with Disabilities Team.
Location :- The Portal, CH65 0BE
Payrate :-£45.00 Per hour (Umbrella)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Children with Disabilities team based in Ellesmere Port, covering Cheshire West and Chester.
- Provide interim leadership for a stable and established team, ensuring continuity of service delivery.
- Oversee and support Social Workers, Support Workers, and the Senior Family Case Worker in their daily activities.
- Ensure the team provides high-quality social work services across the full continuum of intervention (Child in Need, Child Protection, Children in Care).
- Provide strategic direction and support in cases involving children with complex disabilities, ensuring effective case management and safeguarding practices.
- Ensure the Family Case Workers are effectively managed and supported at the Team Around the Family (TAF) intervention level.
- Work closely with senior leadership to monitor team performance and develop operational improvements.
- Maintain compliance with relevant legislation and best practices for working with children with disabilities.
- Ensure appropriate resources and training are provided to the team to enhance their practice and professional development.
- Liaise with other departments, external agencies, and stakeholders to ensure holistic support for children and families.
- Manage case escalations and ensure timely intervention and resolution in complex and sensitive cases.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
