Staffordshire Council is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Team Manager to join their Peripatetic Team .

Location:- Staffordshire Place 1, ST16 2DH
Pay rate :- £41.42 per hour (Umbrella)

Team :- Peripatetic Team

Key Responsibilities: -

  • Lead and Coordinate Team Activities
    Manage and oversee a team of peripatetic workers (those who work remotely or on the move). Ensure effective communication and coordination despite varying work locations.
  • Resource Management
    Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their strengths and expertise. Ensure team members have the resources and tools they need to be effective in their roles.
  • Monitor Performance and Set Goals
    Set clear performance targets and KPIs for the team. Regularly assess and track the team's performance to ensure goals are met.
  • Promote Team Development and Growth
    Identify training and development opportunities for team members. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Ensure Safety and Compliance
    Monitor adherence to company policies, safety standards, and legal requirements. Address any compliance issues or risks related to remote or peripatetic work.
  • Communication and Engagement
    Maintain regular contact with remote team members through video calls, meetings, or other communication tools. Encourage team bonding and morale, despite geographical distances.
  • Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution
    Address any issues or conflicts that arise within the team quickly and effectively. Act as a mediator between team members and management when necessary.
  • Reporting and Administration
    Provide regular updates and reports to senior management regarding team performance and activities. Ensure all paperwork and documentation for peripatetic work are in order and submitted on time.
  • Client Relationship Management
    Build and maintain positive relationships with clients or stakeholders served by the peripatetic team. Address client concerns promptly and ensure high satisfaction.
  • Budget and Cost Management
    Manage team expenses and ensure cost efficiency. Approve travel or work-related expenses for peripatetic staff within budget limits.
  • Implement New Strategies and Processes
    Continuously assess team processes and suggest improvements to increase efficiency and productivity. Lead the implementation of new technologies or systems to support mobile working.

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
  • At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
  • Social Work England Registration
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle
