Staffordshire Council is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Team Manager to join their Peripatetic Team .

Location:- Floor 1, Staffordshire Place 1, ST16 2DH
Pay rate :- £33.33 per hour (Umbrella)

Shift Pattern: Hybrid working - min 3 days in/around office

Key Responsibilities: -

  • Provide Expert Guidance and Support
    Act as a subject matter expert and offer guidance to less experienced team members. Share best practices and provide mentoring on complex cases or challenges.
  • Lead and Oversee Client Interactions
    Take charge of key client relationships, ensuring that their needs are met with high-quality service. Handle escalated client concerns and offer solutions as needed.
  • Ensure High Standards of Service Delivery
    Maintain and elevate service standards, ensuring that peripatetic team members consistently meet or exceed client expectations, even while working remotely.
  • Monitor and Review Team Performance
    Conduct regular reviews of team members' work and provide constructive feedback. Evaluate the effectiveness of team members' approaches and suggest improvements.
  • Develop and Implement Policies and Procedures
    Help create and refine team processes and policies to ensure efficiency, compliance, and quality. Regularly review and update procedures in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct Training and Development
    Identify training needs within the team and provide on-the-job learning opportunities. Lead specialized training sessions to improve skills and knowledge across the team.
  • Manage and Support Casework
    Take responsibility for managing complex or high-risk cases. Ensure that appropriate interventions are being made and outcomes are achieved in line with team and client objectives.
  • Promote Team Collaboration and Communication
    Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the team, despite working in remote or mobile settings. Organize regular check-ins, team meetings, and briefings to ensure alignment.
  • Ensure Compliance with Legal and Ethical Standards
    Monitor the team's adherence to legal and ethical standards, particularly with regard to remote working environments. Take action to address any non-compliance or ethical issues promptly.
  • Maintain Accurate Documentation and Reporting
    Ensure that all casework and team activities are documented accurately and consistently. Provide detailed reports to senior management on team performance, case progress, and any challenges encountered.
  • Problem Solving and Conflict Management
    Provide solutions to challenges or conflicts that arise within the team. Offer support in resolving disputes or difficulties in client relationships, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Foster Continuous Improvement
    Proactively suggest and implement changes to improve team workflows, efficiency, and overall performance. Drive initiatives for innovation and best practice adoption across the team.
  • Advocate for Wellbeing and Support
    Ensure that team members have access to the necessary support, both professionally and personally. Advocate for the well-being of the team, particularly when working remotely, and help manage workloads to prevent burnout.
  • Take Lead in Strategic Projects
    Lead or participate in strategic initiatives, such as process improvements, new service offerings, or technology implementation. Drive innovation and contribute to the overall strategic direction of the team.

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
  • At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
  • Social Work England Registration
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle
