Job Title: Team Manager - MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub)
Location: Landmark House, 4 Egerton Road, Ipswich, IP1 5PF (Hybrid - 3 days on site, 2 days WFH)
Contract: Permanent (Initial 3 months agency cover)
Pay Rate: £45.50 per hour (Umbrella)
Hours: 37 hours per week

About the Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Team Manager to join the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) within Children and Young People's Services at Suffolk County Council.
This is a key leadership role responsible for managing a high-performing multi-agency safeguarding team, ensuring effective information sharing, risk management, and timely decision-making to safeguard children and young people across Suffolk.
You will play a vital role in driving service quality, performance, and partnership working across agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage staff within the MASH, ensuring effective daily workflow and service delivery
- Provide supervision, leadership, and performance management to the team
- Ensure timely and appropriate safeguarding decisions are made with no drift in case progression
- Oversee multi-agency information sharing and decision-making processes
- Chair professional meetings and contribute to safeguarding outcomes
- Monitor performance, quality assurance, and compliance with statutory requirements
- Drive continuous service improvement and embed best practice
- Manage risk effectively and ensure safeguarding concerns are escalated appropriately
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to deliver integrated safeguarding responses
- Ensure accurate recording, reporting, and data quality across systems
About the Team
The MASH team receives all safeguarding referrals for children, young people, and adults at risk in Suffolk. The team plays a critical role in assessing risk, gathering information from partner agencies, and determining the most appropriate safeguarding response.
About You
We are looking for an experienced practitioner with:
- Strong background in children's social care and safeguarding
- Proven leadership and team management experience within statutory services
- Strong understanding of MASH and multi-agency working
- Excellent risk assessment and decision-making skills
- Experience of performance management and service improvement
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and improving outcomes for children and families
