In this role you will
1. Formulate and update strategies, policies, and procedures related to landlord and building safety to align with legislative requirements and best practices.
2. Supervise a team of seven direct reports, overseeing supervision, performance management, HR processes, mentoring, and training to ensure effective delivery of property compliance services.
3. Develop and enforce housing compliance-related practices, processes, procedures, and policies that reflect best practices, adhere to statutory guidance, meet legal requirements, and are cost-effective.
4. Establish robust management systems and regularly report progress both in writing and orally to ensure ongoing compliance with relevant landlord health and safety legislation, statutory requirements, codes of practice, and key performance indicators.
5. Ensure the establishment of effective processes for an ongoing program of remedial actions when compliance issues are identified, ensuring corrective actions are recorded, actioned, and completed promptly
6. Create and implement audit and assurance procedures related to the Council's compliance and remedial programs to ensure continuous improvement and adherence to standards.
7. Source, commission, and oversee consultants and contractors as needed, leading contractual performance meetings and addressing performance issues while ensuring compliance with the Council's financial policies and requirements.
8. Offer up-to-date advice and guidance on Asset Building Safety and Compliance to the wider Cambridge City Council staff, fostering a culture of safety and compliance across the organisation.

9. Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion, and apply this to your role and ways of working.
10. Perform any other responsibilities as required by the Senior Operations Manager, Responsive Repairs and Compliance, in line with the role's grading.
11. This role is required to travel between offsite locations.
