Assessment And Support Officer - Cambridge

MAIN ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Housing applications assessments:
a) Inputting housing applications on to the
system and assigning priority to them with reference to the Council's Lettings Policy
b) verifying and updating applications to ensure that changes and proofs of
circumstances are processed promptly and efficiently - to reassess housing register
priority accordingly following receipt of the information

2. Assisted bidding: Supporting vulnerable households to bid for accommodation by
understanding the housing needs and preferences of the individuals and offering
bidding advice and support and/or placing bids on behalf of applicants

3. Housing register review: conducting periodic housing register reviews and
reassessing individual housing register applications periodically to ensure that
assigned priorities are still relevant

4. Office administration: Collecting and distributing post and issuing standard letters
to customers, ordering stationery supplies for the service, administering manual and
electronic filing systems, scanning documents, providing office telephone cover,
maintaining and managing office databases, managing the administration of
scheduled appointments, preparation of standard agreements with external parties,
photocopying, arranging and take minutes for internal and external meetings,
producing information leaflets for customers and partners, organising display of
information in the reception area and running basic reports to inform statistical
returns.


5. Financial administration: Logging payments received, processing invoices to be
signed off by officers at the appropriate level, liaising with colleagues to draw up
payments from funds designed to prevent or alleviate homelessness and pursuing
recovery of debts / agreeing repayment arrangements owed to the Housing Advice
Service

6. Housing panel organisation: Organising a range of housing panels, processing
relevant paperwork and recording outcomes on relevant databases

7. Carry out any other duties as required by your line manager from time to time in
accordance with the grading of the post.
