Lancashire - QSW - Family Safeguarding Team
Lancashire Council is looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to Join their Dynamic Family Safeguarding Team.
Location : Rawtenstall Library
Payrate : £36.00 per hour Umbrella
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of children and families, undertaking statutory social work duties in line with safeguarding legislation and local authority procedures.
- Complete high-quality assessments of children and family needs, risks, and strengths to inform care planning and interventions.
- Develop, implement, and review child protection plans, child in need plans, and care plans to ensure children's safety and wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals, including health, education, police, and specialist services, to deliver coordinated support.
- Build effective relationships with children, young people, and families to promote positive change and reduce risk.
- Undertake Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries, ensuring timely and evidence-based decision-making.
- Identify and assess risks relating to neglect, abuse, domestic abuse, substance misuse, and mental health within families.
- Participate in strategy meetings, case conferences, core groups, and court proceedings where required.
- Prepare clear, analytical, and timely reports for child protection conferences, legal processes, and court hearings.
- Ensure the child's voice is heard and central to all assessments, planning, and interventions.
- Work within the Family Safeguarding model to provide strengths-based, trauma-informed, and restorative practice.
- Maintain accurate case records and documentation in compliance with regulatory and organisational standards.
- Support children in care, permanence planning, and reunification processes where appropriate.
- Contribute to risk management, safeguarding decisions, and escalation processes to protect vulnerable children.
- Keep up to date with relevant legislation, policies, and best practice, including the Social Work England professional standards.
Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
