Lancashire Council is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join their highly supportive Family Safeguarding Team.

Location: Fleetwood Library
Pay Rate: £36.00 per hour (Umbrella)

Working Pattern: Hybrid Opportunity

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of children and families within the Family Safeguarding Service.
  • Undertake safeguarding assessments and implement effective child protection plans.
  • Prepare high-quality court reports, statements, and care plans for legal proceedings.
  • Represent the local authority in court and provide evidence when required.
  • Complete statutory visits, assessments, and reviews in line with legislation and timescales.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
  • Identify and assess risks, ensuring timely interventions to safeguard children.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records and documentation.
  • Support children and families through child protection, care proceedings, and permanency planning processes.
  • Travel across the Fylde & Wyre/Fleetwood area as required to attend visits, meetings, and court hearings.

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
  • At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
  • Social Work England Registration
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle
