Liverpool - Team Manager - Family Help Team

Liverpool Council is looking for experience and dedicated Team Manager to support their dynamic Family Help Team.

Location: Liverpool North Connexions Centre, Utting Avenue East
Pay Rate: £45.00 per hour (Umbrella)

Note: 2 days remote, 3 days in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and support a team of social workers and family practitioners delivering high-quality Family Help services.
  • Provide effective supervision, case oversight, and decision-making to ensure timely, child-centred interventions.
  • Oversee assessments, family support plans, and interventions, ensuring they are outcome-focused and completed within statutory and local timescales.
  • Promote early intervention and strengths-based practice to improve family resilience and prevent the escalation of safeguarding concerns.
  • Ensure safeguarding risks are identified, assessed, and managed effectively in line with statutory guidance and local procedures.
  • Chair and contribute to multi-agency meetings, strategy discussions, and planning meetings to coordinate support for children and families.
  • Monitor team performance, quality assure practice, and drive continuous improvement through audits and performance management.
  • Build effective partnerships with education, health, police, and community services to deliver coordinated support.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff through reflective supervision, performance management, and continuous professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, statutory guidance, and local authority policies while promoting positive outcomes for children and families.

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
  • At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
  • Social Work England Registration
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle
