Senior Qualified Social Worker - Locality Team - Leeds Council

Contract: Ongoing Agency Contract

About the Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Qualified Social Worker to join a well-established Locality Team in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive local authority, managing complex cases while helping to shape best practice and mentor colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a complex caseload of children and families.
  • Complete high-quality assessments, care planning, and statutory visits.
  • Lead safeguarding and child protection work in line with legislation and local procedures.
  • Prepare reports and represent the local authority in court proceedings where required.
  • Support, mentor, and provide guidance to less experienced social workers.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case recordings in accordance with statutory requirements.

Requirements

  • Social Work England registration.
  • Significant post-qualifying experience within Children's Services.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and court processes.
  • Experience supporting, mentoring, or supervising social workers.
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and analytical skills.
