We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join our Fostering team in Stockport. As a Qualified Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to foster carers and children in care, ensuring the highest standards of care and safeguarding are maintained.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Assessing and supervising foster carers to ensure they meet the needs of children in their care
  • Undertaking direct work with children and young people, conducting assessments and creating care plans
  • Participating in team meetings, case conferences, and court proceedings as required
  • Working collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to provide holistic support to children and families

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A recognized Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England
  • Proven experience in a fostering or children's services setting, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure, manage complex cases, and prioritize workload efficiently
