Reports to: Benefits Team Leader

Join our dedicated Revenues and Benefits Services team as a Benefits Officer, where youll play a vital role in assessing and processing Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support claims. This is an exciting opportunity to make a direct impact in supporting local residents, ensuring fair access to benefits in line with legislation and council policy.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess and determine benefit claims accurately and efficiently

Liaise with claimants, landlords, DWP, HMRC, and third parties

Manage changes in circumstances and update records accordingly

Proactively detect and refer suspected fraudulent claims

Provide advice and support to the public on benefits and entitlements
