Join our dedicated team in Staffordshire as an Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) within the Child Protection (CP) and Looked After Children (LAC) team. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting independent reviews of care plans for Looked After Children, ensuring they are appropriate and effective.
  • Facilitating meetings and consultations with children, families, and professionals to gather insights and feedback.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the quality of care and support provided to children in care.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and local authority policies.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance to social workers and other team members, promoting best practices.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Extensive experience in child protection and/or working with looked after children.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess complex situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport with children and families.
