Bury Council is currently seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join its Children Looked After (CLA) Team on a locum basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive and well-established team dedicated to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people in care.
Role Details:
- Position: Qualified Social Worker - Children Looked After Team
- Location: 3 Knowsley Place, Duke Street, Bury, BL9 0EJ
- Rate: £35 per hour Umbrella
- Working Pattern: Hybrid
- Contract: Locum
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of children and young people who are looked after by the local authority.
- Undertake statutory visits, assessments, care planning, and reviews.
- Develop and implement care plans that promote stability, permanence, and positive outcomes.
- Work closely with children, families, carers, schools, health professionals, and partner agencies.
- Prepare high-quality reports and maintain accurate case records.
- Attend and contribute to meetings, reviews, and court proceedings where required.
Requirements:
- Social Work England registration.
- Qualified Social Worker with relevant post-qualified experience.
- Previous experience within a Children Looked After, LAC, or Children's Social Work team.
- Strong assessment, safeguarding, and care planning skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment.
