Qualified Social Worker - Children Looked After Team

Bury Council is currently seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join its Children Looked After (CLA) Team on a locum basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive and well-established team dedicated to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people in care.

Role Details:

  • Position: Qualified Social Worker - Children Looked After Team
  • Location: 3 Knowsley Place, Duke Street, Bury, BL9 0EJ
  • Rate: £35 per hour Umbrella
  • Working Pattern: Hybrid
  • Contract: Locum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of children and young people who are looked after by the local authority.
  • Undertake statutory visits, assessments, care planning, and reviews.
  • Develop and implement care plans that promote stability, permanence, and positive outcomes.
  • Work closely with children, families, carers, schools, health professionals, and partner agencies.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and maintain accurate case records.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings, reviews, and court proceedings where required.

Requirements:

  • Social Work England registration.
  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant post-qualified experience.
  • Previous experience within a Children Looked After, LAC, or Children's Social Work team.
  • Strong assessment, safeguarding, and care planning skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment.
