Children's SW - C & F Team - Central Bedfordshire

Central Bedfordshire Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children’s Social Work - Children & Families Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families within our community. As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with families to assess their needs and provide support to ensure the safety and well-being of children.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing effective care plans in partnership with families and other professionals.
  • Providing ongoing support and intervention to families, ensuring the best outcomes for children.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings and working collaboratively with external agencies to safeguard children.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience in children’s social work, particularly in child protection and family support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in children’s social work.
