About the Role:
East Riding of Yorkshire Council is recruiting an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join its dedicated Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team. This is a key opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and young people with complex needs and disabilities. You will work across the spectrum of Children in Need, Child Protection, Children Looked After, and court work.

The team delivers holistic, child-centred interventions through strong partnerships with families, support workers, and external agencies. You will work alongside a supportive team of advanced practitioners, NQSWs, students, and admin staff, with flexible, blended working supported through agile work kits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build positive, trust-based relationships with children, young people, and their families.

  • Undertake assessments to identify needs and risks.

  • Develop child-focused care and support plans in collaboration with families and professionals.

  • Deliver interventions under CIN, CP, CLA, and care proceedings.

  • Work closely with family support and partner agencies to deliver coordinated services.

  • Maintain accurate, high-quality case records in line with statutory and local guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.

  • Proven experience working within a statutory children's team (preferably with CWD).

  • Strong understanding of child development, safeguarding, and disability-related practice.

  • Enhanced DBS and photographic ID required on first day of duty.

  • Excellent communication, planning, and assessment skills.
