Location: Across Staffordshire (Various location)
Pay Rate: £35 per hour (Umbrella)
Working Pattern: Hybrid
About the Role:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Practitioner (SP) to join the Assessment & Staying Together Team based in the Burton Area Office, Staffordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and confident social work professional to take on a leadership role within a supportive and forward-thinking local authority.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on complex assessments and provide high-quality supervision to social workers
- Undertake Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries, ensuring timely and effective interventions
- Support the team in delivering outcome-focused plans to safeguard children and support families to stay together safely
- Chair strategy meetings, case discussions, and contribute to decision-making processes
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and support to less experienced team members
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
- Significant post-qualified experience within children's services, particularly in assessment and safeguarding
- Experience working at Senior Practitioner level or ready to step up into a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, frameworks, and safeguarding practices
- Ability to manage complex cases and support team development

Essential Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving license and access to own vehicle
