Walsall Council is looking for dedicated Advanced Practitioner to join their Children with Disability Team

Location: Civic Centre, Walsall WS1 1TP

Payrate: £ 33.30 Per Hour (Umbrella)

Key Requirements

  • Holding a caseload of Children in Need under Section 17 of the Children's Act of 1989 and children subject to Child Protection Plans
  • Undertaking Initial Assessments
  • Undertaking Core Assessments
  • Undertaking Core Assessments
  • Undertaking Child Protection Enquiries
  • Undertaking Parenting Assessments
  • Undertaking Risk Assessments
  • Undertaking Educational Needs Assessments
  • Carrying out home visits for monitoring purposes/ to promote the welfare of and to safeguard the children
  • Liaising/ Working close with partnership agencies to support the families and meet the children'/ young people's needs
  • Convening and chairing Core Group Meetings
  • Producing Initial Child Protection Conference reports
  • Initiating and implementing Child Protection Plans
  • Applying for and obtaining Emergency Protection Orders
  • Reviewing Financial payments received by kinship carers/ or carers granted Residence Orders/Special Guardianship Orders
  • Organising/managing packages of support
  • Organising/managing packages of care
  • Arranging short breaks
  • Providing Section 17 support to families and children in need
  • Attending court and giving evidence when required
  • Initiating Care Proceedings
  • Completion of Care Proceedings

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
  • At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
  • Social Work England Registration
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle
