*** focus of the role is on the Collection Fund (Council Tax and Business Rates) overseeing the processing and system re-procurement and Benefits administration***



As the Councils lead expert on statutory Revenues and Benefits regulations and requirements be accountable to and advise the Executive Director for Corporate resources (s151) on the strategic development, management and leadership of the Councils Revenues and Benefits (Revs & Bens) Service.

And lead the teams responsible for the administration and collection of council tax, business rates, housing benefit, council tax support, and other related financial services. The post holder will ensure the delivery of high quality, customer focused services that meet statutory requirements and support the Councils financial stability.

As a Head of Service in Lewisham you will:

Display a corporate and strategic approach through demonstrating commitment to the Councils values and translating the vision into strategic intent.
Support performance and quality improvement through leading and nurturing others to lead and manage innovative approaches to achieve results.
Align resources to the Councils corporate priorities and secure appropriate resources to achieve the Councils objectives.
Support services to contribute to the corporate whole through interpreting external needs and trends and creating synergies to achieve corporate goals.
